CASTLA to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking has the mission to END human trafficking through education, advocacy, and empowering survivors. Over the past two decades, CAST has helped thousands of survivors through every phase of their journey to freedom. They offer counseling, case management, legal services, help to find housing, educational and leadership training, and mentorship. They serve survivors of human trafficking in Los Angelos county, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or nationality.
They run two shelters in the LA area. They have a multilingual 24/7/365 hotline and emergency response team.

Cast works through a matrix for evaluating each survivor in 13 categories. They move from “vulnerable” to “thriving” before graduating from the the Cast program. When they graduate they have permanent or safe housing, most are in school or employed.
Cast supports each victim until they are ready to go out on their own to live a new, free healthy life. They also have developed survivor leadership programs. Survivors can begin to help other survivors and give feedback on what more can be done and what needs there are to be met.
Cast is very respected not only for their work with survivors but also in policy making.
They have been instrumental in passing several laws to protect survivors and to getting funding increased for other anti trafficking organizations around the country. They are doing remarkable work in a time when human trafficking is on the rise.
